DECORATING FOR EASTER

DECORATING FOR EASTER

Whether you’re planning an Easter brunch for family and friends or indulging in a weekend of chocolate feasting, here’s 7 Easter decorating ideas to instantly put your home in a hip-hopping mood.

1. Celebrate in Style
Whip up a delicious high tea or go all out with an Easter banquet for friends and family. Dust off your grandma’s china, lay out prettiest cloth and adorn the table with big bunches of blooming flowers and painted eggs.

2. Decorate the Terrace
Make the most of the gorgeous autumn weather (fingers crossed) and celebrate Easter outdoors. Decorate your deck or entertaining space with pretty flag banners and fairy lights. Dress up your outdoor table setting and scatter vibrant cushions and throws over the seating.

3. Easter Tree
Add some festive Easter fun to your living room with an Easter Tree. Either purchase a mini Christmas tree from your local store (chances are, they’ll be on sale) or dust off last year’s Xmas tree. White and silver trees go perfectly with an Easter palette. Decorate your tree in colour co-ordinated Easter ornaments and sweet treats, and you’re good to go!

4. Easter Egg Hunt
Nothing says Easter, like a traditional Easter Egg Hunt. To make it really special, prepare personalised Easter baskets with name tags for everyone in advance. Hide a variety of eggs throughout the garden well in advance and watch the excitement unfold as your scavengers flurry to find the hidden treasures. If the weather turns bad, set up the hunt inside instead.

5. Tree Treats
Turn your backyard into an Easter parade with decorative tree treats. Tie long pastel ribbons to Easter eggs or Easter themed goodies and let them swing prettily in the breeze. An Easter themed piñata is also another great way to get everyone outdoors and participating in the weekend fun.

6. Easter Buffet Table
Use a quaint vintage side table to showcase a yummy range of Easter cakes and desserts for guests. Display the goods on a variety of different cake stands and tiered plates at varying heights. If you need to source extra tableware, try charity stores, garage sales or Gumtree, to stock up on pretty china for a bargain.

7. Easter Table
If you really want to wow your guests, take the time to plan a gorgeous Easter table. A classic bowl filled to the brim with hand painted eggs always makes a stylish centrepiece. Next, consider each place setting. Little details such as pretty egg cups or birds nests and feathers, create a stunning look. Even just adding something simple to each plate, such as fancy napkins will bring your table to life.
